Tara Salimi, D.O., is a family medicine physician with Johns Hopkins Community Physicians. Dr. Salimi's clinical expertise focuses on preventive health, comprehensive chronic disease management and women's health. What she loves most about being a physician is the trust her patients place in her and the joy of celebrating their small, daily victories towards better health. In addition to her medical education, she holds a Master of Science in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor’s degree in human biology from University of California, San Diego. Her background in genomics and molecular biology, including research experience at a leading private-sector genomics company and the National Institutes of Health, directly informs her holistic, science-driven approach to patient care. Originally from Maryland, Dr. Salimi enjoys living in the local community with her husband, their child and two Yorkies.
